Basic Kino Der Toten Stratedy
Alright I will start from the very beginning, this guide is aimed at giving you a good start up to around level 25+ every time. Firstly i'll assume you are playing with 4 people, the strategy varies depending on how many people you have.
Prep-Rounds (1-4)
Firstly, you start in the lobby, each player should assume one of the four windows. DON'T buy a gun off the wall yet, use your pistol first, round 1, you can put 5 bullets in a zombie then knife them for the kill to get maximum points. You can also let them come through the door, which gives you a chance at a random drop and you get extra points for boarding up the doors. Although if you are playing with randoms online they likely steal your kills which is annoying. Continue this method, be careful not to try knife when the zombies are reaching through at you through the door. By round 4, you may be out of bullets from not getting any max ammo, don't stress, keep trying to knife through the door, worst case just open the upstairs door. If they get in, which is likely, use your grenades.
Rounds (5-10)
Now, as soon as you kill the last zombie on level 4, you have to run flat out, the most cashed players should open the first door at the top of the stairs, and also run through the next room. You should now be in the foyer room, run down the right hand stairs and get the mp40. Note, if you noticed the mystery crate in the previous room or in the foyer room do not get it unless you know for sure the dogs aren't coming round 5. Lets say the dogs come round 5, everyone should now be in the foyer with the mp40. Some people play the dogs differently, I've found moving around to work the best or the dogs will chew you up while reloading. Now for level 6, most important thing to remember is head shots. You will mow the zombies down if you shot at for the head, i prefer to shoot from the hip than down the sights when close usually. Now the best setup here is for one or two watching the two windows down stairs and a couple upstairs watching the window up there and watching the door as they come down the set of stairs. Hold off here until level 9 if possible, if you get under pressure do not be AFRAID to open the next door, just make sure to tell everyone. Here all four should hold out for a little longer at the door between the theatre stage and the dressing room, four people aiming for head shots and throwing grenades over the top should wipe a level easily. IF they get to close pop the door open and kill them all. Note: If the crate was available in either of the first to rooms then you should try aim for a crawler, and only then go for the crate. Unfortunately people try doing this while zombies are flowing in and make it harder for the rest of the team.
Level (10+)
Now by this stage you should have opened up to the theater stage and be reasonably cashed up, even if you have had a few attempts at the crate, its important to have 2500 saved for level 10. SO by now level 9 or 10 begins, and DON'T turn the power on just let. One person go to the back window one on the front window, and two watch the door to the dressing room. Once the zombies cant be controlled any longer, the person on the back window will hit the power, go into the teleport and link that end and then everyone should run flat out to the juggernog machine at the back of the theater and get one. Don't be silly about it though, sometimes the zombies are quick so don't go get it if your gonna get trapped in there, just get it on the next lap around. Most important is for everyone to keep together, keep moving around, and keep watching your back while firing at the zombies. Go link the other end of the teleporter and fire from there for awhile and kill a few, through a few grenades. Then RUN, if zombies are still coming in the windows then you must run all the way to the theater. Now at the end of level 10, you need to keep a crawler so everyone can get the crate with left over money. -Priority gun is the thunder gun, only one person can get it, but is definitely the most important gun to get far in the game.
-Next the monkeys, they are extremely helpful.
-Next the ray gun, in the later levels 30+ isn't extremely great, but in the early levels is definitely great to have.
-Next I like the HK21, this gun has tripod at the front and holds alot of ammo, upgraded holds even more, awesome money maker.
Now at the end of each level leave crawlers, don't worry to much about boarding unless you need cash, main thing is to wait for the teleporter and link it. You know this when the light on the teleporter goes green. With teleporter linked, kill left overs. Then the way we do it is wait in the teleport and shoot as many as possible before we need to hit the teleporter, the activated teleporter will kill a few as the coming running at you also. Up stairs throw all your grenades down and grab some more off the wall, if there are plenty of zombies down there you can get a few lots of grenades off. Also if you have enough cash, 5000, then grab an upgraded weapon. Just about every weapon upgraded comes out of the pack-a-punch into something decent. Even the pistol, try it! Also the main priority is to always have juggernog, so if you go down, save your cash until you get 2500. Without juggernog, and after level 10 you'll get owned. Before the teleporter sends you out, grab anther set of grenades, you'll go to a random room, look around quickly for a power up, there are also movie reels laying around which you can pick up. Once you come back out into the lobby, check your back make sure zombies aren't already flowing out behind you, and quickly throw about three or so grenades in the middle bit.. WHILE moving up the right hand stair case. If you have a monkey throw one of them first in the middle of the lobby, and spray their heads. Then RUN, you will notice zombies coming out in front of you, if so don't stop and shoot, keep running, your team needs to get every zombie trailing you. If you have the ray gun, you can shoot the ones in your way as your running forward. Best bet now is to go all the way around to the theater, all the zombies should be trailing you, and a few crawlers in the theater so keep alert and watch your back. In the theater your team can watch the doors and smash them as they come through, move back a bit and off the stage, through a monkey here if you have one and own them some more, then keep running back to the lobby. (Link the teleporter if ready ALWAYS). Then once in the lobby, if the zombies are coming from in front of you, you will have to do the whole loop again, unless you have a monkey to drop in there. Fire from lobby if you have time, then do anther lap, then fire from theater door again, while someone goes link the teleporter if you couldn't from before. If teleporter is ready, take it. Grenade grenade grenade, Leave with grenades. Fight from lobby, monkey, loop, fight from theater stage, if teleporter isn't ready then rinse and repeat the method as above. Keep those zombies trailing you! As the levels progress you can start using traps, but please make sure all players are ahead of you. And be aware that zombies will start coming out in front of you everywhere so best left to the last door coming into the theater from the dressing room, then having the teleporter ready to go, so all the zombies trail behind you again. Good luck, and shoot for the head!
Main points to remember
-Leave a crawler at end of every level.
-Keep hitting the crate until everyone gets monkeys and someone has thundergun.
-Fight from lobby and theater.
-Watch your back!
-If you get to lobby and zombies are coming down the stairs, do a lap, get the zombies all behind you!
-LINK the teleporter, you'd be surprised how many times people forget to on the lap around.
-Always leave the projection room with grenades.
-Before you upgrade your gun empty it of its bullets, upgrade gives that gun full ammo. Especially the thundergun and raygun!
-The raygun has splash damage, be careful!
-If you go down get the juggernog as priority, don't even try fight after level 10+ without it.
-Only 3 rayguns and 1 thundergun
-If you get thundergun, try for the HK21 so you can still make some serious cash.
-Upgrade crossbow works like a monkey, can be usefull when trying to loop.
-Bowie knife is powerful, good to kill those crawlers for extra points.
-Use thundergun on the dogs, make sure you leave a full clip, so you get max ammo!
-Fight the dogs in the theater, don't be afraid to use the sentry gun in there it helps take pressure off.
With some practice you should be able to get level 30+ quite easily with teamwork, this method of looping can also be used for solo, even once you get set up with some good guns, even with random noobs you will be able to drag them through to level at least level 25. The only problem is if they don't do a loop with you not all the zombies trail you, and there will be zombies in front. This is a legit way to get over level 40 as I have done with this method. It will take you some practice.
Please feel free to comment and discuss my method.
